August 2011 - Remember When...
While doing a little tidying around the office, I came across some old photos of when Homestead was first starting! I immediately ran to embarrass a few senior employees (check out that hair! Tee hee! ), and to show the ones who have only known the "new hospital" (yes that's actually our x-ray machine!) our old stomping grounds. We all enjoyed reminiscing about those days, and fondly took a stroll down memory lane. Do you remember when this is what Homestead looked like? Enjoy!

December 2010 - The Girl Scouts Earn Their Pet Care Badge
A local chapter of Girl Scouts came to our hospital to earn their Pet Care Badge! Tara, one of our technicians, gave them a detailed tour of the hospital and explained to them how, just like for people, it is important to get health care for our pets.
They were able to see the hospital, the medical equipment and the medications that we use daily.
The girls also were able to check out a fun "show and tell box" filled with interesting jars of "things" - such as Tape worms, bladder stones, and ticks (oh my!) The x-rays were also exciting, as they were able to see the skeletons inside a pregnant dog's belly filled with puppies, and a film from a dog that swallowed his toy ball. Not surprisingly, they loved it all!
Maybe these are the faces of Homestead's future veterinarians? Be sure to check our "staff page" in about 15 years!
